using turbine modules outside the framework

hi there

i am considering using some of turbine's functionality for use
in a framework which we are developing in-house.

i have not yet spent a great deal of time dissecting the architecture
of turbine. but from what i've learned so far, the turbine developers
had such pick-and-choose use of their efforts in mind when they drew
up the specs.

my questions regarding my plan:

1.
as a starting point, i am considering picking up the security module
from fulcrum. as the security module is part of the fulcrum services
framework, i suppose i need to pick up fulcrum as well, to make this
work. is this correct?

2.
how tightly does fulcrum, and in particular the security service, rely
on the torque persistence layer? am i correct in assuming that this
coupling is tight, and that i need to pick up torque as well, if i want
to make the security module work for me?

3.
both torque and fulcrum have been decoupled from turbine. are there any
version considerations i need to pay attention to when trying to make
the two work together?

thanks for your help!
