The DITA input format gets quite popular these days and is often told to be the successor of DocBook, so I'd be happy to see DITA support for DOXIA. :-)

DITA is an OASIS standard (http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/v1.1/OS/overview/overview.html) and has support from IBM and other stakeholders.
