[VOTE] TomEE 1.7.2/OpenEJB 4.7.2 (staging-1045)
Hi
Apologies for the delay in getting this vote started - I had a few issues
getting the artifacts to the Nexus repository. Everything is there now, so
hopefully we good to go. Here are the details:
GIT Tag:
https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=tomee.git;a=tag;h=refs/tags/openejb-4.7.2
Maven Repo: https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/tomee/staging-1045/
Binaries & Source:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/tomee/staging-1045/tomee-1.7.2
Legal: http://tomee.staging.apache.org/legal-tomee-1.7.2/archives.html
Vote will be open for 72 hours or as needed.
Many thanks
Jon

+1 ( we're waiting for 1.7.2 officialization to fix our prod following this issue: "TomEE+ 1.7.1 Classloader gets replaced by CxfContainerClassLoader which causes ClassNotFoundException in Rhino/Nashorn ScriptEngine" )

to reroll.
We definitely need to do so, but I think most of us run out of time
currently :)

Thiagos example should simply work out of the box:
https://github.com/tveronezi/rssreader
On the 1.7.x branch new functionality that breaks old concepts should
really be a flagged option, even if the new feature is better.

I've started another the thread to discuss this - hope that's ok. Will
leave the vote open for a while longer in case there's further feedback.

Hello Thiago,
if you map
<servlet>
<servlet-name>index</servlet-name>
<jsp-file>/index.jsp</jsp-file>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>index</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
then you explicitely ask all your calls to be mapped to index servlet
so it seems ok to me.
Did I misunderstand you?

-1 -> The default servlet is catching the RS requests.
Basically, in single-page-applications, I need to map the default servlet
in a special way...
.
.
.
<!-- The trick is to put all your static files under the same directory
and map the "default" servlet to it -->
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>default</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/app/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
<!-- Any other request will point to the "index.jsp" page. This way YUI
will be able to manage page transitions
at the client side in case the user starts the application from a
permalink. -->
<servlet>
<servlet-name>index</servlet-name>
<jsp-file>/index.jsp</jsp-file>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>index</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
.
.
.
TomEE 1.7.2 returns "index.jsp" for all my rest calls (GET
http://localhost:8080/myapp/rest/users, for example).
After reverting back these two commits, the system gets back to normal.

@Romain,
Can you take a look? I'm not sure what was the idea.

Where is the actual Maven artifact staging repository for this? So my
projects which depend on TomEE can be built and tested against the
candidate. Thanks!

Vote only. We definitely want a 1.7 maintenance release soon.

Hi,
just to be sure,
release cancelled or just the vote?
In case release, I guess this is a result of the focusing on The first
milstone for 2.0.0?
