--- Comment #3 from Alexandra Casapu <he...@gmail.com> ---
Environment used for tests: Win7, OpenOffice 3.5.0, build 9611.

This seems to be an issue that users get annoyed by. This behavior has been
mentioned by users in other bug reports as well (I found these references while
searching for bugs that were related to pasting in OpenOffice):

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=55025 - ‘Plus that the pasted
object lies directly on top of the copied object which will fool some to
believe they didn´t get a copy.’
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=60734 - ‘At the moment it pastes
on top of the field that is being copied and you have to drag the copy to where
you want it to be.’
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=111408 - ‘On OOo pasted objects
are pasted on copied object position, which can be annoying.’
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=38185 - ‘When you select an
object, copy and Paste, the object is on the same position.’
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=12499 - bug mentioned in a
comment (Comment #8 by ‘faoi’)

Minor but obvious bugs like this one can decrease trust of the users on the
product. This behavior seems to be noticed and mentioned as an annoyance to
users. What the data found suggests is that the users perceive this behavior as
a bug, but they are still able to perform their related tasks.
