   ### Problem
   
   Running multiple tasks in the same repository can make their file changes interfere with each other. Creating worktrees externally and tracking each session's working directory requires manual coordination.
   
   ### Desired outcome
   
   Support a complete worktree workflow for local and remote projects:
   
   - When starting a task, use the project directory, create a new worktree, or select any existing worktree in that repository, including externally created ones. Keep the session bound to its selected worktree across restarts and show its worktree in the existing session list.
   - Create worktrees from the source directory's current HEAD without copying uncommitted changes. Generate worktree and branch names with AI by default; if naming fails, use a short random directory name and detached HEAD.
   - When forking a session, choose between sharing its worktree and creating a new one.
   - Add a dedicated **Worktree** settings tab organized by Host and project, with expandable worktree lists, configurable default locations, project overrides, and creation/cleanup scripts.
   - Allow retrying initialization or continuing the task after initialization fails. Provide explicit cleanup for Maka-created worktrees; if a cleanup script fails, ask whether to continue deleting. Archiving or deleting a session should retain its worktree by default.
   
   Hide worktree creation controls for non-Git projects and repositories without an initial commit.
   
   ### Alternatives or workarounds
   
   Create and manage worktrees manually with Git, then open the appropriate directory for each task. Superset's worktree workflow provides a useful reference for naming and lifecycle scripts.
