The graduation will likely happen either this month or next month,
depending on whether we make this board meeting or the next one. The
wheels are already in motion, it's just a question of timing at this
point.

We're hoping to ship and implementation of Abdera very soon and we'd like to
use 5 instead of 4 to avoid shipping software with known, fixed bugs. Can
anyone give an estimate of when 5.0 would be ready? I'd hate for it to get
tied up in a long graduation process. Is there an alternative to do 4.1 and
enough votes for it if 5 gets tied to graduation and slowed down?

Yep, I think that we're ready for graduation and we should do it as soon as
possible. Meanwhile I'm closing some bugs in order to prepare the next
release, now I'm working on this:

I still need to send a mail to the incubator list about that.

For what it's worth, I seriously doubt the incubator would be willing
to let us do another release before graduating. It's been too long,
they're going to want to push us out the door at this point.

Guys, any news about that?
There were rumors about the Abdera promotion as a top level Apache
project, too: any progress so far?

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,

I actually have a bug and an enhancement request I need to enter (and
fix), based on some troubleshooting I was doing in my day job. I also
hope to move our work from 0.4 to 0.5, so an official release would be
nice for that. So I guess I agree with David--fix a few more bugs, then
release 0.5. I'll try to get my work in early next week.

I've been somewhat out of the loop on things but from what I've seen I
think it's just about that time.

I agree, the 0.5 release has a lot of fixes.

May you point me at some of those bugs? Maybe I could help.

Thanks,
Cheers,

I was just thinking on that this morning XD. IMO we should release a new
version soon, we've solved a lot of bugs and currently the trunk version is
more useful and stable than 0.4 version.

I think we should solve some bugs before to the release but they are not
much serius.

James, Jim, Dan... what do you think?
