[jira] [Created] (KAFKA-12425) Connector status report could include a timestamp

James C. McPherson created KAFKA-12425:
------------------------------------------

Summary: Connector status report could include a timestamp
                 Key: KAFKA-12425
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-12425
             Project: Kafka
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: KafkaConnect
            Reporter: James C. McPherson

I'm developing and administering $work's Kafka Connect installation, and make frequent use of the {{hostname:8083/connectors/$connector/status}} REST api calls.

An enhancement that I would to see in the call is to provide the timestamp of when an exception occurred, as an aid to debugging and troubleshooting.

Providing the {{when}} as well as the {{what}} makes determining the {{why}} much faster.
