[GitHub] [geode] onichols-pivotal commented on issue #4176: GEODE-3:
Make Geode build with JDK11.
There is a LOT more work to do to make Geode compile on JDK11. Last time we tried this, we ended up backing out much of the progress that had been made such as adding jam args ["--add-opens", "java.xml/jdk.xml.internal=ALL-UNNAMED", "--add-opens", "java.base/jdk.internal.module=ALL-UNNAMED", "--add-opens", "java.base/java.lang.module=ALL-UNNAMED"]` due to the realization that to properly support jigsaw modules is going to require breaking changes so can't be done until Geode 2.0, so rather than have very limit support for compiling on Java 11, it is better that it not be possible at all for the time being.
