[jira] [Created] (QPID-3637) Move the Qpid Nabble forums from standalone to subforums

Move the Qpid Nabble forums from standalone to subforums
--------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: QPID-3637
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-3637
             Project: Qpid
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Glen Mazza
            Priority: Minor

Hello, Apache Camel, CXF, and ActiveMQ (probably many/most others as well), create Nabble subforums for their dev/user/commit, etc. lists. That allows us to conveniently see mailings from all three lists on one page, for example:

http://camel.465427.n5.nabble.com/
http://cxf.547215.n5.nabble.com/
http://activemq.2283324.n4.nabble.com/

The user can also easily select a subforum (and link to same) if he's only interested in one of the lists.

It would be great if Qpid were similarly structured so we can a single "view all" list. Right now there's two top-level Nabble forums:

http://apache-qpid-developers.2158895.n2.nabble.com/
http://apache-qpid-users.2158936.n2.nabble.com/

and one missing for qpid commits.

If dead links within emails would be a concern, I believe Nabble can provide redirects from old to new URLs.

Apologies for the delay, it was already taking a while beforehand but now that I finally have a telephone line again I have finished setting up the new Nabble subforum for the dev list and updating the website.

Hi Glen,

It wasnt, no. I asked a question about it and forgot about it while waiting for an answer that never came. I'll add raising a JIRA with infra to get it updated to my list for tomorrow (slightly electricity and phone line deprived at home just now due to some recent hurricane-level winds felling trees on them).

Hi Glen,

I have created a new parent around the user list archive and added a commits archive to it: http://qpid.2158936.n2.nabble.com

I have posted to our dev list around what to do with its archive, since its not quite as clear cut as the others. I will update the website once that is resolved.
