Only people in the uima-developers JIRA group (currently committers)
have permissions to delete attachments. Marshall should have
authority to delete it.

Sorry. I did not realize this CDATA section is a Docbook XML element. I
uploaded another patch with CDATA section restored. I also would like to
remove the old patch, but don't know how to do this.

Why do you think the CDATA section is unnecessary? I believe it's
needed, because this is Docbook source,and
Docbook is an XML representation having a DTD, etc. These would end up
being unrecognized Docbook XML elements, causing errors, I think.

OK. I modified the tools.pear.merger.xml file, replacing TAE with AE. Also,
I removed unnecessary CDATA section in the XML fragment there. The patch is
in JIRA.

Documentation for this is in uima-docbooks/src/docbook/tools/
in the files
tools.pear.installer.xml
tools.pear.merger.xml
tools.pear.packager.xml
and perhaps also in uima-docbooks/src/docbook/references/ref.pear.xml
