Is the maven-dependency-plugin v2.0-alpha-1 usable?

I recall in the past some talk about problems with the maven- 
dependency-plugin when it moved to org.apache.maven.plugins.  Does  
anyone know if there are any major issues with 2.0-alpha-1?

There are a few problems with dependency-maven-plugin 1.0 (from  
org.codehaus.mojo), the one that is hitting us now is that it is not  
properly updating its local cache when an artifact changes... meaning  
that only a `mvn clean install` will properly update artifacts which  
are copied/unpacked with dependency-maven-plugin.

Anyone know?
