James with MySQL

Hi,

I appear to have everything working with MySQL but when I look at the connections open in MySQL i don't see any connections for the James user. Shouldn't I see some connections held open, especially if a connection pool is implemented? When I submit Spam, etc I see that the tables are updated so this is surprising. Are connections made and immediately torn down with the database?
