Tomcat share web applications

Hi,

I have a question about tomcat and web applications. Can someone tell me if
it is possible to create dependencies between web applications. What I want
to do is split a web application in such a way that I have a generic part
(web app) and a specific part (web app). The specific part depends on the
generic part. The reason I want to do this is that I have two web
application that rely on the same core either with its own specific parts. I
know that I can deploy it all in one web application, but later on I want to
deploy, using hot deploy, another application without restarting tomcat and
affecting the generic part (web application).
