Re: apache 1.3.3 - setting default compiler - 'gcc' instead of 'cc'
Posted by andrew mejia <me...@yahoo.co.uk>.
VJO,
thanks for your reply...!
so if my default is cc, then i could use something
like:
'bash-2.02# setenv PATH /usr/local/bin/gcc' (my gcc
location)
will a command such as this work under 'bash' ?
Also, i looked in the 'configure' file and it does not
specify any way to change that variable, or with a
'--help', does not yield a way to disable this...
yeah, this is my first apache install and i'm also
not quite the seasoned veteran with this... :)
thanks for whatever you can offer!

Set the CC variable in your shell to the C compiler you desire to use.

apache 1.3.3 - setting default compiler - 'gcc' instead of 'cc'
Posted by andrew mejia <me...@yahoo.co.uk>.
wow, here's my first posting to the apache mail list:
i'm trying to install apache to my solaris 2.7
machine,
but can't run './configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache'
because it wants to use 'cc' instead of using 'gcc'
as my C compiler...
i have gcc installed, but i do not know how to tell
the ./configure to use gcc instead...
any tips or ideas?
thanks for any help you can offer!
