If you open the configuration status plugin, it displays the contents of the first configuration status provider - which usually is the bundle list - assembling this
data takes some time, so the user is forced to wait until this data is displayed before the user is able to switch to the desired tab.

In addition the display of the various plugins for the status in the tab list is not optimal as one has to scroll to see the whole list.

One solution would be to change the layout and display the tabs as a list on the left while the contents of a selected status is displayed on the right - maybe with a split of 15% for the list (left side) and 85% for the selected contents. By default no content is selected and we could display a default message indicating to select something from the left.
