Serializer (again)

<unlurk>

I've just read briefly mails from the last month or so. I was gazing
through to find out what sort of progress has been made on a serializer
for C++. I gleaned out three things

1. Lots of people ask for this :-)
2. Andy is working on something but lots of outstanding issues
3. Somone (Bill I think) was porting from Xerces-j but stopped to see what
   magic Andy cast

But I didn't see any mention of something concrete or in any release.
Anything out there? I'm more curious than anything else. As I have a
class (I posted about it ages ago but I don't think anyone wanted it)
which already which overloads << and provides a toString function for
Document, DOM_Node and DOM_Element, I'm in no rush but I pity the
multidute of people that have beat their way through DOM_Print over and
over again :-)

ah, the second thing I wanted to mention was transcode on Win32. That has
come up *lots* and made up a significant percentage of the traffic
through the list. Is there not a small programmers guide to programming
with Xerces out there that covers issues like this? I didn't see anything
on the website from the brief scan I made.
