CVS access to 4.0?

I've successfully retreived the current sources for Tomcat 3.X 
via CVS, but I can't seem to get at jakarta-tomcat-4.0.

When I try to get the files I get:

   cvs [checkout aborted]: authorization failed: 
      server jakarta.apache.org rejected access

Is read-only CVS access to tomcat-4.0 possible and how to I get it?

its just:
  cvs checkout jakarta-tomcat-4.0 

(after a login, of course)
