Issue OPENEJB-873: DuplicateDeploymentIdException
I got the DuplicateDeploymentIdException when deploying. My web app
(ghlps.war) and openejb.war exists in tomcat at the same time.
I googled for an afternoon, found that this is related to the following
issue and has been fixed:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENEJB-873
But the point is, I used the latest openEjb 3.1.4, and this error was
supposed to be fixed. Why not?
And I've system.properties file in my tomcat/conf directory, indicating:
openejb.deploymentId.format={moduleId}/{ejbName}
But the error still occurs.
Moreover, when I delete the openejb web app from tomcat, the
DuplicateDeploymentIdException has gone, but another problem occurs when
starting tomcat:
java.lang.NullPointerException

And the openejb.home was point to C:\Windows\System32
how come??!!?

Yes, I included many open ejb required jars to WEB-INF/lib of my app since I
wanna integrate with spring. In the conig xml of spring, it needs
Therefore I have to include the required jars...
After a whole day and night trial and error testing, I found that if open
EJB is integrated with spring, then it cannot integrate with tomcat, and
vice versa.
I found that if open EJB is integrated with spring, then I need not to add
the OpenEjbListener to server.xml of tomcat. Spring will ask open EJB to
boot up....But the side effect is openejb.home and openejb.base pointed to
C:\Windows\System32. I don't know if this will cause a bad effect or not...

Hi,
Could you post a list of jars that end up in your EAR/WAR file? It sounds
like one of the OpenEJB jars is being included, and removing that from your
application will hopefully solve your problem.
Thanks

I provide some additional info, which is the error message in openejb.log:
2011-03-19 23:34:16,880 - ERROR - Unable to deploy collapsed ear in war
/ghlps: Exception: Application cannot be deployed as it contains
deployment-ids which are in use: app: E:\xampp\tomcat\webapps\ghlps
openejb/ConfigurationInfo
openejb/Deployer
MEJB
........
It said that my web app (/ghlps) is deploying openejb/ConfigurationInfo,
openejb/Deployer and MEJB. How come? I never created these EJBs. And the
moduleId is "openejb" therefore it must be the EJB of openejb.war
That's the conflict which openejb.war and ghlps.war co-exist in my tomcat.
Any help?
