[jira] Created: (GERONIMO-463) CLI Deployer doesn't give login prompt for non-Geronimo server

CLI Deployer doesn't give login prompt for non-Geronimo server
--------------------------------------------------------------

         Key: GERONIMO-463
         URL: http://nagoya.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-463
     Project: Apache Geronimo
        Type: Improvement
  Components: deployment
    Versions: 1.0-M3
    Reporter: Aaron Mulder
    Priority: Minor

The CLI tool only prompts the user for authentication if it detects a Geronimo authentication failure. It should detect when a non-Geronimo URI is being used, and prompt for authentication before attempting to connect (unless the info was provided on the command line).

An argument could be made that it should always prompt (Geronimo or not), but then it would prompt even if it was ultimately going to fall back on operating in offline mode, which would be a little weird.

Aaron Mulder updated GERONIMO-463:
----------------------------------

    Fix Version: 1.0
    Description:
The CLI tool only prompts the user for authentication if it detects a Geronimo authentication failure. It should detect when a non-Geronimo URI is being used, and prompt for authentication before attempting to connect (unless the info was provided on the command line).

An argument could be made that it should always prompt (Geronimo or not), but then it would prompt even if it was ultimately going to fall back on operating in offline mode, which would be a little weird.
