[Bug 124189] New: Deleting an image then undoing does not restore the image to the right place (or does not restore it at all)

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124189

            Bug ID: 124189
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Deleting an image then undoing does not restore the
image to the right place (or does not restore it at
                    all)
           Product: Writer
           Version: 4.0.1
          Hardware: Mac
                OS: Mac OSX, 10.9
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P3
         Component: editing
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: lau.hub@gmail.com
                CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org

I have a document with a lot of :
-images (bitmap and Draw objects)
-Math formulas

Sometimes, if I delete an image and then try to undo may change, the image does
not appear back to its place.

Apparently, the image is there but not to the correct place.

If you need a demonstration document, let me know (mine is too big to be
attached).

It happens sometimes. I think the reason is memory leaks or stack overflow.

Why my document shows bad compatibility ?

- Perhaps because I started it with LibreOffice, which I trashed because it
crashed to often.

- Perhaps because I experienced a lot of document crashs (AOO crashed and ran a
recovery of the document at restart)

- Perhaps I have to much images from AOO Draw

These are some suppositions, maybe there are some more.

How my objects are anchored ?

I used to make them anchored to paragraph when starting my documents. But since
my images moved to random places after inserting text before them, I decided to
change all anchors and made my objects anchored "as character" (except a few of
them).

Hope it helps...

NOT Reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 Release – German UI / German locale
[AOO401m5(Build:9714) - Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7
Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor
versions.

I tried picture "images52" (I have no time to check one by one whether effect
might appear), click for select -> <Del> -> Undo: picture back at it's old
place.

ODF validator <http://odf-validator.rhcloud.com/> shows lots of ODF errors, I
can't tell whether that might be related to reporter's problems.

@reporter:
A hint with what pictures / objects you observed the problem would help

@reporter:
Thank you for your feedback – unfortunately important information we will
need to reproduce your problem is missing.
Please add all information requested in following:
b) Send a test document to me by e-mail, if you agree I will make it available
   for public testing.
c) Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
d) Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
e) if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
f) add information
f4) concerning your Operating System (Language)
f5) concerning your AOO version (with Build/revision ID if it's not a
public release) and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
f6) AOO settings that might be related to your problems
f7) how you launch AOO and how you opened the sample document
f8) Whether your problem persists after you have renamed your user profile
(Quit Quickstart before!) before you launch AOO (please see
     <http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases
f9) Whether that worked in former OOO / AOO Versions

Please do not cite these hints in your reply, but cite the items like:
f7): Desktop-icon for soffice.exe / AOO File menu -> Open

(In reply to lauhub from comment #4)
But it would already help if you can contribute information whether affected
objects are anchored to paragraph or character or whatever else common
characteristics there might be. Currently it's hopeless ...

Any ideas why your document shows such bad ODF compatibility?

The problem is, as I wrote it when submitting the bug, that it happens
"sometimes". And it is not easily reproducible since, after quiting and
restarting, the bug disappear for a given image.

The problem with the bugs I submit in general is that they happen after a few
hours of use. And that the different bugs may also corrupt my files (see
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124041).
