Re: svn commit: r1238609 - /incubator/bloodhound/trunk/doc/wireframes/README

How would I go about building these so I can the wireframes?

Ta!

That's fine.

Sadly there aren't many great mockup tools.. Using Balsamiq, storing
the .bmml files in the Bloodhound SVN so others can manipulate them
using the ways described earlier and .png s for everyone else makes a
lot of sense to me, and it worked well for me on previous projects.

I'm really just looking for broad brushstrokes here, so simply
commenting on them via Email may work fine (I'll send one for that
purpose in a moment), and of course others are free to create mockups
using their tool of choice if this won't work for them. I'm happy to
adopt a better solution if there's broad support for it.

Regardless I believe we should go straight into building soon after
that so that people can fine tune the details as they would do with
any other bit of code, being able to compile, deploy, patch as normal
:)

FYI I have emailed Balsamiq requesting some licenses for the project. I'll
let everyone know what their response is.

Thanks Joe, I will be happy to do that, assuming nobody is already

Are there any alternative solutions that make sense so that we can
enable a wider range of ways to play with mock-ups?

Re: svn commit: r1238609 - /incubator/bloodhound/trunk/doc/wireframes/README

Posted by Joachim Dreimann <jo...@wandisco.com>.
Yes, the software is donated freely to Open Source projects.
Balsamiq's policy on this is published here:
http://support.balsamiq.com/customer/portal/articles/105924-can-i-get-mockups-for-free-

It can also be run in the browser. Some features linking individual
mockups won't work that way, but editing individual ones works fine:
http://builds.balsamiq.com/b/mockups-web-demo/

Longer term it'd be great if I could get commit access to the svn repo
for Bloodhound so that I can place the .bmml files in there, as Gary
did earlier with this test. Until then I'll maintain them in a Dropbox
account and share them publicly from there - links will follow.

I'll also always supply .png files, so any image editor will do should
the Balsamiq way fail at any point.

Once Bloodhound is a more mature, active project we can also apply to
for free myBalsamiq access for committers, which would be an
online-only environment with both edits and a repository.

If anyone could update the readme with the above for now, that would
be appreciated.

- Joe
