[jira] [Created] (RAVE-336) Portal layout isn't rendered correctly
in Google Chrome
Portal layout isn't rendered correctly in Google Chrome
-------------------------------------------------------
Key: RAVE-336
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RAVE-336
Project: Rave
Issue Type: Bug
Components: rave-portal
Affects Versions: 0.5-INCUBATING
Environment: Chrome v15.0.874.106
Reporter: Richard Kettelerij
In 0.5 the portal isn't rendered correctly in Google Chrome. I think this issue is introduced recently since the portal looks reasonably well (using Chrome) in 0.4.
Firefox doesn't exhibit this issue.

Hi Richard,
can you please attach a screenshot so we can see what would be wrong. I'm using both Firefox and Chrome in OSX while developing the portal and haven't noticed anything strange yet.

Just tried latest trunk on Mac with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera - all fine.
(It even renders the same on Opera Mobile, even though its not especially usable, but thats a completely different improvement task...)

Alright I think I got it. It only occurs when you have a "dirty" cache. Once I clear the browser cache the issue is gone. With "dirty" cache I mean a cache containing the 0.4 layout. Steps to reproduce:
- Download 0.4 binary, install en start tomcat.
- Open up the portal, login as canonical
- Shutdown tomcat
- Download 0.5 binary from staging, install and start tomcat
- Open up the portal, login as canonical
- Incorrect rendering.
JS errors:
- Uncaught TypeError: Object #<Object> has no method 'registerWidget'
- rave.js:490Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'collapsed' of undefined
