Thanks, solved it for me :)

Had the same problem: need to deploy two different apr-releases on the same
server. It definetely is a -rpath issue. 

Solved this temporarily using LD_PRELOAD, because this variable is processed by
ld.so before -rpath. LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc. has no effect, because of -rpath.
