[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-3191) field exclusion from fl

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-3191?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15229690#comment-15229690 ]

Erick Erickson commented on SOLR-3191:
--------------------------------------

Rats. Trunk has diverged enough that this patch doesn't apply any more and it's not trivial to merge. Anyone care to take a crack at updating it? This time I _promise_ I'll keep after it....

>From what I can tell, the changes to, particularly, SolrReturnFields between 14-jan and now are trivial, but applying the patch sure leads to chaos. I suspect somebody with more Git mojo than I have could merge the changes in a few minutes. Pretty Please????

> I think it would be useful to add a way to exclude field from the Solr response. If I have for example 100 stored fields and I want to return all of them but one, it would be handy to list just the field I want to exclude instead of the 99 fields for inclusion through fl.
