[OT] java.util.Date / java.sql.Date

Somehow it appears to me that there little benefit of using
java.util.Date in the application at all.

sql.Date extends util.Date, so one should be able to pass sql.Date
wherever util.Date is required. So, why bother with util.Date at all
and not just use sql.Date everywhere in the app?

Any thoughts? Thanks
