I have the same problem with NetBeans 12.0 on Windows 10. I have a number of projects. It crashes to the point where I have to use the Windows Task Manager to kill the process. Menus don't function. the X in the upper right corner doesn't close it. It seems as though it won't get through opening all the projects. I've had trouble installing the Java support plugin. This might be related to our organization's Draconian network policy where no digital signatures outside of the company are trusted. This happens every day. So far, after about an hour of fussing with it (reinstalling, clearing cache, etc.), I've been able to get it functional again, until the next day.
