[users@httpd] htaccess and referer logs

One of the webhosts that I use does not give me access to the live referer 
or error logs. I like to see who is visiting, what graphics are being used 
from my site and any errors that are being made. Is it possible to write 
the referer and errors log files with instructions from the htaccess file?
