Maven dependency plugin does not respect mirror configuration

Hello users,

I have a sample project in my environment, where in I do not have direct access to central repo but through mirror (nexus). It has not been a problem while downloading the artifacts, however while generating the dependencies report (mvn site), it does not look at my mirror, but instead it is looking for the direct url, http://repo1.maven.org/maven2 hence a warning message (after timeout) as below

[WARNING] The repository url 'http://repo1.maven.org/maven2' is invalid - Repository 'central' will be blacklisted.

It is the same behaviour for all the external repos for which we do not have direct access. Can someone please give me some inputs? Is it a know issue with the plugin? Is there a work around, so I can make maven look at mirror instead of direct urls?

Thanks,
Jyothi
