[jira] [Commented] (LENS-310) Investigate latency of select roughly in columnar warehouse

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LENS-310?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14333061#comment-14333061 ]

Sushil Mohanty commented on LENS-310:
-------------------------------------

Rough query is answered from Knowledge Grid without unpacking the actual data packs but still it requires disk I/O. Have seen queries finishing in few 100ms, but it can take even more time depending on the complexity of query and resource available on the physical server. The magnitude of latency might vary to few seconds as well.

> We are using select roughly for doing explain on columnar warehouse.
> This task is to investigate if select roughly can return in few milli seconds latency.
> Can the warehouse respond faster for select roughly even if it is running other heavy queries?
