I'm unable to reproduce these problems on 64-bit systems
I have access to.  1.3 contains other 64-bit fixes.  I'm
going to assume they fix this problem.

I'll check out 1.3.  as of 1.2.1, bug was still present.  I have
reason to beleive the problem is in the DU 4.0 header files, are you
running DU (osf/1) 4.0?
