Hello Ole, you don't say which of the OpenOffice programs you're referring
to. However, since Writer has a Table item on the main menu and a Sort
sub-item on that menu I am presuming you are referring to Writer.

For the "Sort" selection to be active it is necessary to first select
rows/columns in the table. Sort will then work on the selected rows/columns.

This enables sorting only a portion of a table based on need. e.g. table
has a header and data rows underneath, don't want to sort the header as
part of the data, select all the rows underneath the header row and then
perform the sort.

If you were referring to Sort in one of the other OpenOffice programs
please indicate which program you are attempting to sort in.

Thank you.
