All that I know Noble owns is an awesome yellow car. He will take you on a ride along the Australian coast, please plan a trip ;-)
AFAIK, Shalin and Noble wrote the original code, and it has been pretty much in its original shape even now.
bq. Nice with an early heads-up to users list so they feel they get a notice before they’re in the middle of their next upgrade and scratch their heads. Perhaps we could ask there if anyone wants to take over maintenance.
Good idea! Lets send a note to solr-users and dev list. Can you please draft a note?
Also, lets deprecate it now. If we wait till 9x to deprecate, we will have to carry it until 10x. Also, deprecating shortly before 9.0 would be unfair to users. Deprecating now gives them enough chance to re-consider their use of DIH until 9.0.
