[Fwd: Cornerstone transform component]

(you'll be pleased to know I have fixed my rogue system time issue - was
formerly mucking with NTP..).

Folks,

I have contribution from Peter Klotz for Cornerstone..

The service/block have been created for those that want a block
configured JAXP transformer. The flaw with the Sun provided
(javax.xml.*) one is that it is not interface/impl separated. It is in
fact a thunking delivery mechanism that will not allow multiple sax
transformers. It is really simple, I've checked the code. I consider
it perfect for Cornerstone inclusion. There needs to be some more work
on javadocs and maybe some unit tests, but hey that should not take long...

Thoughts? A Vote necessary ?

Regards,

- Paul

Hi Paul,

I have created a JAXP TranformerFactory component for cornerstone. As I
have only anoncvs access to the cornerstone sources I would like to ask
you if you could check it in. I have seen that you created the JAXP DOM
and SAX document builder factory components, that's why.

I have created a service
org.apache.avalon.cornerstone.services.transform.DocumentTransformerFactory
and a corresponding block
   org.apache.avalon.cornerstone.blocs.TransformerFactory
that works just as your two components work.
The build.xml is updated and also the index.xml from the documentation.

Please pay attention to not overwrite these two files in your CVS root
with the ones from attached tar.

BTW, I have not yet tested them very much but will do so next week.

Best regards, Peter
