Please add the author when quoting emails
Hi,
I see more and more emails in this list where someone responds to
another email in a thread, quotes the content of the email but does not
add the author who said this.
This makes it very hard to find out who said what, so please always
quote the author when quoting emails.
Thanks
Carsten

:) The problem is that many users are not using such mail readers or if
you're searching the thread context is lost etc.
Now, but there are more people on this list not quoting the author :)
It's not a big deal, but makes things much easier.

Hehe, I sometimes do this as well (without using gmail), just because it
makes reading mails easier. Instead of scrolling down the whole mail,
you respond on top. I think that's valid if you're not directly refering
to a specific content of the other mail but more to the email/thread in
general.

yes, i do that sometimes, especially when the context is clear. i
never had problems figuring out who said what, especially since the
mail-viewer displays a nice threadded view :-)
what i find worse is when people write their reply before the original
message. it happens to me sometimes, too, since my mail client
(google) does this automatically.
