Build Problem - jetspeed 1.4 - HELP please
During build of jetspeed1.4, I noticed that there is
an error in the build log file I created. The build
was successful and I can deploy the jetspeed.war on a
Tomcat 4.1.18 but fails on a Jetty.
Here is the errors in the build log:
45 check-run-only-on-schema-change:
46
47 sql-check:
48
49 sql:
50 [echo]

java.io.FileOutputStream.openAppend(Native Method)
Why is it looking for this file /logs/log4jetty.log?
I have attached the build-torque.xml section
corresponding to those errors above:
171 <target
172 name="sql"
173 depends="check-use-classpath, sql-check"
174 unless="torque.internal.sql.uptodate"

186 </target>
187
188 <target name="sql-classpath"
if="torque.internal.useClasspath">
189 <torque-sql
190 basePathToDbProps="sql/base/"
191
contextProperties="${torque.contextProperties}"
192 controlTemplate="${torque.template.sql}"
193
idTableXMLFile="${torque.idTableXMLFile}"
194 outputDirectory="${torque.sql.dir}"
195
outputFile="report.${torque.project}.sql.generation"
196 sqldbmap="${torque.sql.dir}/sqldb.map"
197 targetDatabase="${torque.database}"
198 useClasspath="${torque.useClasspath}">
199 <fileset dir="${torque.schema.dir}"
200
includes="${torque.schema.sql.includes}"
201
excludes="${torque.schema.sql.excludes}"
202 />
203 </torque-sql>
204 </target>
I have spent too much time fiddling with this. Does
Jetspeed requires the usage of log4j ?

Solved - Re: Build Problem - jetspeed 1.4 - HELP please
Posted by sinda hauser <xi...@yahoo.com>.
A couple of things I have to do to fix this issue.
1) clear the $CLASSPATH so that the build.xml with the build.properties can pickup the needed classes and jars it needs. Lesson learn, start with an empty CLASSPATH.
2) I have to add mail.jar and activation.jar into the jetspeed_root/lib/. I do not see this mentioned on any of the tutorials.
However I am still curious as to which config file and parameter it picks up from my own CLASSPATH to where it needs the log4j file.

I tried build from the build/torque using:
ant -f build-torque.xml -propertyfile
./build.properties and got a
3 BUILD FAILED
4
/u02/jetspeed/jakarta-jetspeed/build/torque/lib not
found.
I tried creating this directory and copied over dir
contents of /u02/jetspeed/jakarta-jetspeed/lib/ and
received same errors as my initial posting of missing
lo4jetty.log
If one can focus on the build log errors from my
initial post line 62 on, and the corresponding
task starting on line 189, WHERE does the
log4j gets called? Is it in Torque?
What log4j it picks up on the classpath?

I tried per the suggested manual build and got

I tried build from the build/torque using:

./build.properties and got a
