I'm not particular interested in rss, but if nobody disagree we can add it as an extension, but... this patch doesn't work in my clean copy of abdera.

Please, can you provide a patch that will work with a clean copy of abdera. You should rename the package as well, rss support is in the contrib package and it should move to the ext package.
