File created with Writer labels with pitch>width, but after saving pitch=width
This is related to the label pitch problem on file (58925), but is different.
When one creates a label with a pitch that is greater than the label width
(e.g. for an Avery 5160 label that has a 1/8" horizontal gap between label
columns) the label is accurately copied to all the labels and laid out to fit
on the labels. But when that label sheet is saved and later reloaded, it comes
back WITHOUT the gap between columns of labels, and the extra space transferred
to the right border. That is, the pitch has been reduced to the width
dimension. The only work-around is to copy the label text and re-create a new
label document on the label template using the text copied from the saved label
sheet. This works, but is tedious and the labels cannot be emailed to another
user and print correctly.
The label feature is very useful, but I think it could be improved if editing
tools were added so that you could change alignment, font size, bold, italic
etc BEFORE creating the document with the text duplicated 30 times, so that
each one has to be edited.

Sample saved from OOo 1.1.5 looks fine
I saved my attachment "Simple Sample" from OOo 1.1.5, and the result looks fine
in MS WORD Viewer and AOO 4. So it looks as if really a OOo problem. I already
observe the bug with "Simple Sample" saved from OOo 2.0.3, so this one is a
very old regression.

I think Edwin is right, it's a filesave problem, see comments following soon!
If it's a bug, it's an old one, I already see the pitch loss with OOo 3.1.1
(more early not yet tested).
@all:
Do we know whether MS OFFICE does support pitch information? If not, the
observed behavior might be not a bug, but necessary adaption to WORD format?
It would be great if a user with WORD on his PC could explain.

teps how to reproduce with "AOO 4.0.1 RC3 – German UI / German locale [Rev.
1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic”
4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions:
1. open sample document
2. Save as .doc
3. Close
4. Open source and target.doc and compare:
No longer horizontal distance between label columns, coluns 2, 3 have been
moved to the left in the doc so that they join column before without space
between.

I also observe the problem with LibO 3.5.7.2 on Ubuntu Linux (VirtualBox), so
OS=ALL seems appropriate.
Still Reproducible with Simple Sample and "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI /
German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1525917 - 2013-09-25]" on German
WIN7 Home
