After moving the right column (with Output, Search Results, Usages) back to the bottom, new files opened at the bottom. I had to reset the window layout to get back to a usable state (with files opening at the top).

While this basically works, all newly opened files open in the right area instead of the center column so I have to move them to the center manually, which is time-consuming and annoying. All files should open in the same area. That way, the other tabs (Output etc.) can be accessed quickly even after opening a lot of files.
