Entity Reference

Hi
 
For some reason, Cocoon translates the character entity &#x2022; to &bull;
which is not recognized by some browsers say Netscape 4.0. Basically i wanna
display some "bullet" symbols. 
 
 I'm wondering is there is a way to instruct cocoon not to translate some
character entities with entity references.
