[jira] Commented: (GERONIMO-3300) Upgrade Dojo to 0.9

Paul McMahan commented on GERONIMO-3300:
----------------------------------------

Let's hold off on this until Dojo 1.0 is released.
http://dojotoolkit.org/2007/11/02/dojo-1-0-release-candidate-1

Time permitting it would be great to get this into Geronimo 2.1.

Since the new version of Dojo is not backwards compatible, and since existing apps like the admin console and the monitoring plugin use the Dojo 0.4 plugin, we should leave the current Dojo version in place alongside the new version. This could be accomplished by using different contexts as I described above.

BTW, dojox.charting was missing from 0.9 but 1.0 includes it,
refactored from 0.4 and now using the powerful dojox.gfx library.

Best wishes,
Paul

Paul,
Awesome plan!

I've been tracking the improvements that have been going on with dojo
since I started work on the monitoring project, and would be very
excited to get 1.0 in for later use.
