[jira] Created: (GERONIMODEVTOOLS-574) WAR deploy requires a
geronimo-web.xml
WAR deploy requires a geronimo-web.xml
---------------------------------------
Key: GERONIMODEVTOOLS-574
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMODEVTOOLS-574
Project: Geronimo-Devtools
Issue Type: Bug
Components: eclipse-plugin
Affects Versions: 2.2.0
Reporter: Kevan Miller
Assignee: Tim McConnell
Fix For: 2.0.x, 2.2.0
As far as I can tell, if a Web project does not include a WEB-INF/geronimo-web.xml, GEP will not deploy a WAR to a geronimo server.
GEP will automatically add a geronimo-web.xml, if you import a WAR (if a geronimo server is the target environment). However, if you don't choose a target runtime or choose a non-geronimo runtime, this won't occur.
GEP should always attempt to deploy -- regardless of the existence of a deployment plan.
Would also be nice if GEP would provide the ability to add deployment plans to a WAR.
BTW, haven't tested, but I'd guess there may be similar issues with EAR's.
