[users@httpd] Version bug or just installer probs?
I installed Apache 1.3.28 today (msi isntaller, I'm on windows XP and
2000).. Over an existing Apache install as I use to, but wget -dq
http://localhost/ still says Apache 1.3.27 (win32) php, modperl and so on,
instead of 1.3.28 like expected... I tried removing/reinstalling service,
restarting service, running just as console.. Nothing works... So, was this
'cause I just installed on top of existing install? Would it work if I
compile Apache.exe and ApacheCore.dll from sources? Or is it just a bug?

If you installed it while it was running, it wouldn't have been able to
replace the program files since they were in use. The way installers
get around this is by putting the files they want to replace in the
"PendingRenameOperations" key in the registry, and they are installed
the next time you reboot... so in other words, have you rebooted yet?

I orginally installed it in WindowsXP, then installed 1.3.28 from win
2000... Although, I probably didn't reboot that OS as I didn't see a need
for it... I'll start it right away... Hmm...

I don't know about the Apache 1.3.x installers, but the Apache 2.0.47
installer refuses to run on my system (Win2k) unless I remove 2.0.46.
