[jira] [Created] (SPARK-16556) Silent Ignore Bucket Specification
When Creating Table Using Schema Inference
Xiao Li created SPARK-16556:
-------------------------------
Summary: Silent Ignore Bucket Specification When Creating Table Using Schema Inference
Key: SPARK-16556
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-16556
Project: Spark
Issue Type: Bug
Components: SQL
Affects Versions: 2.0.0
Reporter: Xiao Li
When creating a data source table without explicit specification of schema or SELECT clause, we silently ignore the bucket specification (CLUSTERED BY... SORTED BY...). For example,
{noformat}
CREATE TABLE jsonTable
USING org.apache.spark.sql.json
OPTIONS (
path '${tempDir.getCanonicalPath}'
)
CLUSTERED BY (inexistentColumnA) SORTED BY (inexistentColumnB) INTO 2 BUCKETS
{noformat}
