By an "Access Violation" popup do you mean that Apache has crashed?  If so, can
you get a stack back trace from the crash?

>From the protocol trace it looks simply like the Cisco server is sending a
handshake failure; can you get anything further from the server logs about why?
 That itself isn't necessarily a mod_ssl bug.
