Parent Server Generation

Hi,

I have a problem with Apache 1.3.22 under solaris 8 (the problem also happens
with Apache 1.3.20).

If I tell Apache to start with, for example, 10 servers (via. the
"StartServers" directive) then it never creates more as required (it should
create servers all the way up to the "MaxClients" directive).

This problem drove me mad and my work-around is to start 150 servers when
Apache starts (not the best idea perhaps...).

To find out any additional information I've loaded the mod_status module and,
when I look at my Apache status WWW page it tells me :-

Parent Server Generation: 0

Is this normal or correct?

Thanks,

Derek
