[jira] [Created] (TRAFODION-412) LP Bug: 1336979 - Phoenix tests (T4) see intermittent problem_with_server_read errors

Alice Chen created TRAFODION-412:
------------------------------------

Summary: LP Bug: 1336979 - Phoenix tests (T4) see intermittent problem_with_server_read errors
                 Key: TRAFODION-412
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TRAFODION-412
             Project: Apache Trafodion
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: connectivity-mxosrvr
            Reporter: Weishiun Tsai
            Assignee: Apache Trafodion
            Priority: Critical

The current Trafodion code in GIT is unstable. Phoenix tests (using JDBC T4) are seeing intermittent errors like the following:

Tests run: 8, Failures: 1, Errors: 2, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed: 82.499 sec <<< FAILURE! - in test.java.com.hp.phoenix.end2end.DistinctCountTest
testDistinctCountOn2Columns(test.java.com.hp.phoenix.end2end.DistinctCountTest) Time elapsed: 5.905 sec <<< ERROR!
org.trafodion.jdbc.t4.HPT4Exception: The message id: problem_with_server_read

It’s hard to identify what changes had caused this failure, but the first occurrence of such failure seems to appear at the phoenix_quick run on Jul 1, at 6:15 pm of the Jenkins‘ verification of the following check-in:

https://review.trafodion.org/#/c/22/

The output is in the following link:

http://logs.trafodion.org/22/22/1/gate/phoenix_quick/35779e8/console.html

This bug report is created to document this problem for someone to take a look and to have a reference point for similar future Jenkins test failures.
