Ok, here I am. My holidays are gone and am ready to tackle a task or
two. I read the doco and went thru some materials about the Java
Annotation (metadata) facility. In fact, it wasn't that hard to create
one (@Stateless) and use it in my tests.
With some luck I'll be able to to give
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/OPENEJB-244 a successful shot. Wish me
luck! :-)

The place's found and the very first cut of looking up
@Stateless-annotated beans is done too. I'm working on wiring it up to
o.o.a.c.Deploy (of openejb-core), but it seems EjbJarUtils is used all
over the place. I'll try to figure out something useful that would
eventually replace it.
The idea is to look up all @Stateless-annotated beans, process them
and override their configuration if ejb-jar.xml is found. Other stuff
will stay as it's now.
I'll commit what I've got so far to let you take a look at it. It
compiles and OpenEJB builds so I'll go this way unless someone objects
and point me to a sandbox or alike ;-)

Hi Mohammed and Mohammed :P
Yes, they are, but the point is to enable their processing by the ejb
deployer (not sure what the exact name of the class is - just looking
into it). They're the first level configuration elements (as far as
@Stateless is concerned) and when corresponding elements appear in a
deployment descriptor they're overriden.
So, unless I'm mistaken, @Stateless should be easy to implement. I
need to find the place where ejb-jar.xml is processed and hook
processing the annotation before it. It should be the very first
version of what I'm to achieve.

Hi Jacek and Jacek...
Aren't these set of annotations implemented in the geronimo-ejb_3.0_spec jar
???
Thanks and best regards...
