mod_perl 1.27

Hello,

does mod_perl work with apache 2?
I have seen the new mod_perl module
but this module can only be build
as shared object as this moment?

So when mod_perl 1.27 is asking
for my src/ directory of apache 2
which directory should I use?
Or doesn't it work at all with
mod_perl 1.27?
