[v104] Feedback on dry run
I did a dry run of the release artifacts (dry since its based on trunk
from earlier today, all versions are snaps):
http://people.apache.org/~rahul/shale/v104snap/ (m2 artifacts in repos)
If you get a chance, try inspecting a few artifacts, early feedback
would be great. Planning on using the same procedure for producing
artifacts for the release vote, in a couple of days.

On the subject of artifact names and minimal manual intervention, do
we care about the '-dist' suffix to the assemblies? If not, having a
blank <id> in the assembly descriptors will help (with the downside
that it will no longer be possible to point to the descriptor via its
id, particularly relevant if we ever have more than one).

Please complain about every minutest detail, and thanks in advance ;-)

I manually removed the version number from that one and mailreader-jpa
(apparently the apps' assemblies don't get the version numbers in
them, can you please try the assembly in shale-blank, for example).

First, (before I start complaining...) thanks for taking this on, and
for going the extra mile with all the cleanup work.
The first thing I notice is that there are no version numbers in the
filenames. I expected to see shale-framework-1.0.4-SNAPSHOT.zip, etc.
