[excalibur] status report

Excalibur is now building with the following caveats:

    excalibur/logger=tests

       Unit tests are failing because the ECM test case
       is not locating the test components - initially this
       was due to the prior removal of the required test classes
       but I've pulling these back in from the attic - but
       something is not quite right in the test setup (suspicion
       is that ecm test case is assuming ant style build environment
       and this is failing in a maven style environment)

    excalibur/monitor

       Build and tests succeed when executed locally
       but fail when executed under a multiproject. It seems that the
       monitor target is being created at a higher directory level and
       that the test case does not find the content it needs.

    excalibur/xmlutil

       Most tests fail due to DOM related errors.

Assistance in the resolution of the above is appreciated!!
